Basketball Game Preview: Carver Montgomery Wolverines vs. Central Red Devils

Carver Montgomery hasn't had much luck against Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Carver Montgomery Wolverines will square off against the Central Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Carver Montgomery is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They took a blow against Huntsville, falling 82-55. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Panthers are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Central waltzed into their match last Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 67-59.

Central pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.1 points per game. As for Carver Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.

Carver Montgomery suffered a grim 87-65 defeat to Central when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Carver Montgomery avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
