Baseball Recap: Berwick Bulldogs vs. Dallas Mountaineers

Berwick had lost seven straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it eight. They lost 8-0 to the Dallas Mountaineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 on April 14th.

Berwick saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Sult, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for Dallas, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

On Dallas' side, they got a great performance from Peyton Vanvalkenburg as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Vanvalkenburg has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jude Nocito was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Geskey, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
