With a playoff win on the line, Mt. Pleasant rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past the East Grand Rapids Pioneers with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. The Oilers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Isaiah Rodriguez was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 120 receiving yards and three scores.

Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh McCune, who threw for 165 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 76 yards. Dylan Buck was McCune's top target, picking up 107 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Mt. Pleasant's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for East Grand Rapids, they moved to 9-3 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Mt. Pleasant will square off against Lowell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Grand Rapids does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
