Softball Game Preview: Stoneman Douglas Eagles vs. St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders

The Stoneman Douglas Eagles will head out to take on the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Monday just wasn't the day for Stoneman Douglas' offense. They fell 3-0 to Park Vista on Monday.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas lost 8-2 to West Broward on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Brianna Sims was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

St. Thomas Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Stoneman Douglas, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Stoneman Douglas couldn't quite finish off St. Thomas Aquinas in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can Stoneman Douglas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
