The Idalia Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Genoa-Hugo Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Idalia has six straight victories, Genoa-Hugo has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Idalia is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Arickaree, who was ranked 25th at the time (Idalia was ranked second). The Wolves claimed a resounding 64-0 win over the Bison. That looming 64-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolves yet this season.

A big part of Idalia's victory came down to the chemistry between Broderick Kite and his top target Kolby Morris. Kite threw for 75 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes while Morris picked up 61 receiving yards and three scores. Morris continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Idalia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Idalia didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hunter Drullinger and Hayden Drullinger. Hayden has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Genoa-Hugo scored first but ultimately less than Flagler in their game on Saturday. They took a 30-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 6-0 in the first quarter.
Although Genoa-Hugo took the loss, they still got scores from Spoke Carr, Isiah Yoder, and Tayler Thelen.
Idalia's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Genoa-Hugo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Everything came up roses for Idalia against Genoa-Hugo when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 58-6 victory. In that contest, the Wolves amassed a halftime lead of 52-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
