Baseball Recap: Westview Takes a Loss

Westview blew Oceanside out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Oceanside got their revenge. The Wolverines fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 5-3. The Wolverines' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Westview got a good showing from Miles Russell, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Russell has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Westview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mahir Desai, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Westview's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Oceanside, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-16 record.

While Westview had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
