Newman Central Catholic lost to Ashton-Franklin Center back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Comets came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Their offense was headlined by Isabella Lanning and Kennedi Shippert, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Brooklyn Smith and her 16 assists. Lanning and Smith didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Newman Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 13-18. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Newman Central Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Orangeville on the 18th. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, they will take on Milledgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
