After flying high against Bishop Watterson on Friday, Mt. Vernon came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Lakota East Thunderhawks on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Yellowjackets' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-18, 25-13.

Zach Black paced Mt. Vernon's offense, picking up eight kills. Black got some help from Isaiah Campbell and his 14 assists. Black was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Lakota East, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

Mt. Vernon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Olentangy on the 26th. As for Lakota East, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Hudson on the 26th.
