They had to suffer through a 40-13 loss at the hands of the Mercedes Tigers. The Javelinas have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Mercedes was led to victory by Robert Sanchez and Aaron Cortez. Sanchez rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Cortez threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
