Football Game Preview: Forest Hills Yellow Jackets vs. Franklin Panthers

The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets will square off against the Franklin Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Forest Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Smoky Mountain by a score of 40-28. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Yellow Jackets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Mustangs are ranked 263rd).

A big part of Forest Hills' win came down to the chemistry between Noah Furr and his top target Demarion Hough. Furr threw for 118 yards and a pair of TDs while Hough picked up 67 receiving yards and one score. What's more, Furr racked up 104.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Cam Winnegan got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Franklin had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five two weeks ago. They walked away with a 24-14 victory over the Falcons. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Panthers were the (much) better team in the second half.

Forest Hills' record is now 9-2. As for Franklin, their record now sits at 8-2.
