Chippewa Falls gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Superior Spartans. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won seven in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Chippewa Falls took both sets by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-13.

Their offense was headlined by Lauren Shepherd and Willa Risinger, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Barrett Boisvert and her seven assists. Riley Terhark controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Coincidentally, Chippewa Falls and Superior will both be playing D.C. Everest the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Evergreens at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cardinals will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
