Payson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past the Pine View Panthers with a 52-48 win on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won six games in a row.

Payson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micah Swasey, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Quinn Buys, who en route to 13 points.

Payson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine View only two offensive boards.

Pine View lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caleb Schmitt, who to rack up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Papa, who on his way to 11 points.

Payson's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. As for Pine View, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Payson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-58 victory against Hurricane on the 21st. Pine View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
