Baseball Recap: Camelback Comes Up Short

Camelback was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-2 to the Valley Vista Monsoon. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Camelback saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cesar Fernandez, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Camelback's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Valley Vista, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Coming up, Camelback will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Browne at 3:45 p.m. Browne's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Camelback's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Valley Vista, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-9 win against La Junta on the 21st.
