Softball Recap: King Kekaulike Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

King Kekaulike dropped their record down to 8-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell 7-2 to the Baldwin Bears. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Na Ali'i couldn't push the score so high this time.

King Kekaulike saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsie Jo Sakamoto, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Baldwin, the win keeps they at an undefeated 11-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.2 runs this season.

On Baldwin's side, Hope Batulayan-Cadorna spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. Batulayan-Cadorna has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailey Nagasako (Bailey) was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Camryn Nakamura (Cami), who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
