Washington County lost to Bethlehem back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Commanders enjoyed a cozy 34-17 win over the Eagles/Banshees. The game was the first time the Commanders have beaten the Eagles/Banshees on their field since August 25, 2017.

Jontate Smith looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 181 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Washington County didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Bethlehem to a completion percentage of just 46.2%. Given Smith's standout performance, it's clear the Eagles/Banshees' secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Bethlehem's loss came despite strong showings from Jack Bradley and Thomas Mudd. Bradley threw for 179 yards and two TDs, while Mudd picked up 70 receiving yards and one score.

Washington County has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 27.5 points this season. As for Bethlehem, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington County will challenge Marion County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bethlehem, they will take on Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
