Basketball Game Preview: Burlington Wildcats vs. Labette County Grizzlies

Burlington has won three straight games at home, while Labette County has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Burlington Wildcats will welcome the Labette County Grizzlies at 6:40 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Burlington: 29.1, Labette County: 29.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Burlington will bounce into Friday's match after beating Independence, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Burlington came out on top against Independence by a score of 45-32 on Tuesday. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Labette County was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Paola 55-23. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Burlington better keep an eye on Landry Obrien. She was instrumental in Labette County's win, putting up 21 points and three steals. Obrien is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Amelia Carnahan was another key player, earning eight points and five steals.

Burlington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Labette County, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
