Baseball Recap: Fort Payne Comes Up Short

Fort Payne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hazel Green Trojans.

Fort Payne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Winn, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave Winn a new career-high. Brannon Oliver also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Fort Payne's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Hazel Green, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Fort Payne will welcome Albertville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hazel Green, they will challenge Hartselle at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
