Basketball Recap: Brookings Takes a Loss

Brookings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spearfish Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 64-51 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Brookings now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Spearfish, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.

Brookings wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-30 victory against Douglas on the 28th. As for Spearfish, they have also already played their next match, a 50-47 win against Yankton on the 28th.
