Baseball Recap: Wapahani Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Wapahani dropped their record down to 13-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Delta Eagles by a score of 3-1. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Brandt Longfellow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

As for Delta, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

On Delta's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Kaeb Stebbins gave up a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

At the plate, Delta's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Coming up, Wapahani will venture away from home to take on Winchester Community at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.1, the Golden Falcons 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Delta, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bellmont at 7:00 p.m.
