Basketball Game Preview: Patoka Warriors vs. Farina South Central Cougars

Patoka is 0-10 against Farina South Central since November of 2018 but things could change on Saturday. The Patoka Warriors just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Farina South Central Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Patoka is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-54 heartbreaker at the hands of Brownstown/St. Elmo. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since December 18, 2023.

Meanwhile, Farina South Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 34-30 to Dieterich. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Movin Maroons are ranked 122nd).

Farina South Central has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Patoka, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Things could have been worse for Patoka, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-29 loss to Farina South Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Patoka avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
