Basketball Recap: Cromwell Piles Up the Points Against Kelley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cromwell). They claimed a resounding 86-9 win over the Kelley Mariners. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Cromwell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Anderson, who went 10 for 13 on her way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. That's the most points Anderson has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Shannon Lund, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Cromwell was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cromwell's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Kelley, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cromwell will host Floodwood at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Kelley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Woods at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
