Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Rancho Cotate

If Healdsburg wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Rancho Cotate, they should've done a better job of containing Adam Pengel. The Rancho Cotate Cougars strolled past the Healdsburg Greyhounds with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 68-50 thanks in part to Pengel, who went 9 of 15 en route to 23 points and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Despite the loss, Healdsburg still got an impressive performance from Thatcher Little, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Little has posted since back in December of 2024. Beckett Little was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Rancho Cotate and bumps their season record up to 18-3. As for Healdsburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.

Rancho Cotate will be playing in front of their home fans against Vintage at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Healdsburg has already played their next contest (against Lower Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
