Basketball Recap: Grand Junction Tigers vs. Palisade Bulldogs
Grand Junction was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 41-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palisade Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-30 back in January.
Leading Palisade to victory were Delaney Wright and Mady Bavor. Wright dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Bavor posted 12 points and five steals. Palisade is 9-2 when Bavor posts three or more steals, but 3-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gracie Cooper, who had eight points.
Grand Junction's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Palisade, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.
Looking ahead, Grand Junction will challenge Grand Junction Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Grand Junction is facing Grand Junction Central at the right time seeing as Grand Junction Central is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Palisade, they will take on Fruita Monument at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Fruita Monument will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Palisade surely won't give up without a fight.
