Softball Recap: Westside's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Westside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Fountain Inn Fury.

Savanna Branch was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Kirkus, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Westside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in 12 consecutive games.

Westside's record is now 12-6. As for Fountain Inn, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.

Westside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Fury: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
