Volleyball Recap: Masconomet Regional Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

With a playoff win on the line, Masconomet Regional rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Doherty Memorial Highlanders.

Masconomet Regional walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-19.

Masconomet Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Draper, who had six aces and four digs. That's the most aces Draper has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Nora Sterner, who had 14 assists and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Masconomet Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive contests.

Masconomet Regional has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Doherty Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.

Looking ahead, Masconomet Regional will take on Canton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Doherty Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
