Soccer Game Preview: Garey vs. Muir

The Garey Vikings will head out to take on the Muir Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Garey is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Garey's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Pacific by a score of 2-0. The Vikings' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Mia Carmona and Dez Batiz scored both of Garey's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Muir entered their game against Birmingham on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Muir fell just short of Birmingham by a score of 1-0. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Garey pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Muir, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1-1.

Garey took their victory against Muir in their previous meeting back in November of 2019 by a conclusive 6-0. Does Garey have another victory up their sleeve, or will Muir turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
