Red River came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Fargo North Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Roughriders have posted against the Spartans since May 25, 2017.

Zander Waind tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Red River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Seaver, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Cam Irion was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Red River's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Fargo North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
