Basketball Recap: Clifton-Clyde Victorious

Clifton-Clyde won the last time they faced Blue Valley, and Sevy Wurtz did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Clifton-Clyde Eagles' way against the Blue Valley Rams on Thursday as the Clifton-Clyde Eagles made off with a 65-44 victory thanks in part to Wurtz, who almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clifton-Clyde's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Wunderle, who posted four points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Blue Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Morgan Sump, who had nine points and seven rebounds. Brynlyn Brockman was another key player, putting up six points and nine boards.

Clifton-Clyde's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Blue Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Clifton-Clyde didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-44 victory against Axtell on the 25th. Blue Valley has also already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Linn on the 25th.
