Football Game Preview: Weequahic Indians vs. Montville Mustangs

Two dominant wideouts in Heaven Porter and Sierra Turner are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Weequahic Indians will be playing at home against the Montville Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Weequahic 7.5, Montville 7.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

Weequahic's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Memorial 46-0. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Weequahic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Porter and Samiyah Hutchins. Porter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Montville faced Wayne Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mustangs took a 13-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Weequahic is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points over those games. As for Montville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2-1.
