Baseball Recap: Asheboro Takes a Loss

Asheboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 14-2 to the Oak Grove Grizzlies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Tuesday.

Asheboro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shane Immel, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Gavin Allen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Asheboro's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Oak Grove, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Asheboro will face off against rival Central Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Oak Grove is set to challenge their familiar foe North Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
