Softball Game Preview: Lutheran Northwest Crusaders vs. Lutheran Warriors

Lutheran Northwest is 0-3 against Lutheran since May of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Lutheran Northwest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Lutheran Northwest needed a bit of extra time to put away Southfield Christian. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Fiona Hanes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Lutheran Northwest got a massive performance out of Lily Jablonowski, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. Those five RBI gave Jablonowski a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Abele, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Lutheran Northwest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southfield Christian only posted an OBP of .400.

Meanwhile, Lutheran lost 16-1 to Plymouth Christian Academy on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Lutheran Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
