Basketball Recap: Maret Has No Trouble Against Digital Pioneers Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, Maret was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They strolled past the Digital Pioneers Academy Pythons with points to spare, taking the game 65-48. The Frogs pushed the score to 48-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pythons cut but never quite recovered from.

Digital Pioneers Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenneth Borders, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points and three steals. Borders has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Imran Buttt, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points.

The win got Maret back to even at 7-7. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Maret wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 44-41 loss against Potomac School on the 16th. Digital Pioneers Academy has also already played their next game, a 63-40 victory against Washington Leadership Academy on the 14th.
