Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 60-47 to the Northville Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Rocks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 52nd).

Despite the loss, Salem still got an impressive performance from Mitch Paspal, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Paspal a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nye Turner, who posted ten points and five boards.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Northville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Salem will host Novi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northville, they will head out on the road to take on Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
