Baseball Recap: Franklin Road Christian Comes Up Short

Franklin Road Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Zion Christian Academy Eagles. The Minutemen were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Benjamin Walker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Bryant, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Franklin Road Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Zion Christian Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Coming up, Franklin Road Christian will square off against Middle Tennessee Monarchs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Zion Christian Academy, they will take on Collinwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Zion Christian Academy has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
