Softball Recap: Springville Find Success

Springville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Clearfield Falcons 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Devils have posted since March 20th.

Allyx Haveron made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Mary Finlayson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Springville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Clearfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-7.

As of now, neither Springville nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
