Softball Recap: Mesa Verde Takes a Loss

Mesa Verde entered their game against Golden Sierra on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mavericks came up short against the Grizzlies, falling 17-9.

Lanae' Cortti made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Martin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Mesa Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Golden Sierra, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

While Mesa Verde had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
