Basketball Game Preview: Mount Si Wildcats vs. Renton Red Hawks

The Mount Si Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Renton Red Hawks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mount Si is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Mount Si is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Tualatin, who was ranked second in their home state at the time (Mount Si was ranked 22nd). Mount Si was outmatched by Tualatin and fell 74-41. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Renton earned a 57-49 win over Issaquah on Monday.

Mount Si's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Renton, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-11.

Everything came up roses for Mount Si against Renton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 88-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount Si since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
