Basketball Game Preview: Proctor Rails vs. Watertown-Mayer Royals

The Proctor Rails will be taking part in a tournament against the Watertown-Mayer Royals at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Proctor's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Proctor took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 59-49 win over Milaca. The 59-point effort marked the Rails' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Watertown-Mayer was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 65-60 to Central. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Proctor pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Watertown-Mayer, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Proctor beat Watertown-Mayer 57-47 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Proctor repeat their success, or does Watertown-Mayer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
