Erique Hosley and Dillon Binegar provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Piketon. The connection was good for 65 yards, the longest such play in Scioto Valley this season.
Unioto moved up to 556 from 584 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Shermans were able to move up by beating the Redstreaks 63-28.
Shawn Collier had a great week catching the football as Piketon fell to Unioto. He caught 11 passes for 236 yards.
Devon Brewster threw for 303 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 19-30 with 1 interception.
Collier was the best wideout in the league this week as Tyler Gullion's team fell to Jerry Hudnell's team. Collier tallied 11 receptions for 236 yards. Stefan Thacker helped Piketon's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 39 yards.
The Redstreaks' Brewster and Collier have formed a dream team this season, leading Scioto Valley in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Brewster has thrown for 1,163 yards this season, while Collier has 32 catches for 507 yards. Zane Trace's Nate Mettler leads the league in rushing yards with 921.
Mettler of the the Pioneers is only 79 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 130 carries Mettler has put up 921 yards this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Adena takes on the Shermans. As it stands, the Warriors are in fourth, while Unioto is in third.
Zane Trace was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. Gary Peters' team vanquished Huntington 52-32 earlier in the week.
