Volleyball Game Preview: Briggs Bruins vs. Whetstone Braves

The Briggs Bruins will take on the Whetstone Braves at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Briggs is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Central Crossing just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Comets. Considering the last time the Bruins couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Briggs was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Whetstone had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Whetstone's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Briggs, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.

Briggs took their win against Whetstone in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
