Softball Recap: Alta Takes a Loss

Alta managed to slip by Brighton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hawks came up short against the Bengals on Thursday, falling 7-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Hawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Danica Doyle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Alta has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Brighton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alta will challenge Highland at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Brighton, they will take on Olympus at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
