Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Byron couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 68-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stewartville Tigers. The Bears' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Stewartville's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audrey Shindelar, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 23 points and seven boards. The game was Shindelar's 12th in a row with at least 15 points. Jayci Rath was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 18 points.

Byron's defeat dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Stewartville, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.
