Volleyball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Druid Hills Red Devils.

Keira Parsons paced Columbus' offense, picking up four kills. Parsons got some help from Emma Cicora and her 12 assists. Parsons was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Druid Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caroline Rogers led the charge by getting nine digs, five kills, and two aces. That's the most kills Rogers has posted over her last six games. Another player making a difference was Sylvia Hess, who had five kills, five digs, and three aces.

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Druid Hills, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Walker on the 16th. As for Druid Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Dalton on the 16th.
