Exeter extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 11-4-1. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Caruthers Blue Raiders. The result was nothing new for the Monarchs, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Madden Pasos made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Pasos was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Velasquez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025. Tanner Garnett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Exeter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.
As for Caruthers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Caruthers' side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Gaxiola, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Exeter has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Mendota on the 31st. As for Caruthers, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 victory against Kern Valley on the 31st.
