Soccer Game Preview: Highland vs. Rigby

The Highland Rams will venture away from home to take on the Rigby Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Highland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Thunder Ridge, who was ranked first at the time (Highland was ranked eighth). The Rams fell just short of the Titans by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Highland couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rigby, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past Madison 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for Rigby as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Kelton Bowcutt and Ethan Butler scored both of Rigby's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Rigby's victory bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3-1.

Highland beat Rigby by a goal when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
