Volleyball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Maricopa Rams, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

While North was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-15.

Jose Garcia paced North's offense, picking up 17 kills. Garcia got some help from Leonel Ortiz and his 26 assists. Syncere Coleman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Maricopa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season.

North has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Carl Hayden Community on the 1st. As for Maricopa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Campo Verde on the 1st.
