Recap: Thompson Valley Eagles vs. Northfield Nighthawks
The Thompson Valley Eagles extended their postseason success on Friday against the Northfield Nighthawks. They came out on top against the Nighthawks by a score of 31-24. Winning may never get old, but Thompson Valley sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Riley Suarez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 247 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 73 yards and a touchdown. Suarez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards.
Thompson Valley has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.6 points per game. As for Northfield, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Thompson Valley will head out on the road to face off against Holy Family at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holy Family knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Thompson Valley likes a good challenge. Northfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
