Columbus has gone 8-2 against Rice Consolidated recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cardinals will square off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Neither Columbus nor Rice Consolidated posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Columbus fell victim to Hallettsville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brahmas. The shutout was out of character for the Cardinals seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Meanwhile, Rice Consolidated was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against Yoakum, falling 12-2.

Rice Consolidated saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keenan Hailey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Columbus' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10. As for Rice Consolidated, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

Columbus took their win against Rice Consolidated in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
