Volleyball Recap: Eastbrook Falls Despite Big Games from Sloan Brown and Maddy Sheets

Eastbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wabash Apaches. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Apaches when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Wabash scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Eastbrook had strong showings from Maddy Sheets, who had 14 digs and three aces, and Sloan Brown, who had six digs and five kills.

Amaya Sellers was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 14 digs and two aces.

Eastbrook's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wabash, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Eastbrook didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Huntington North on the 30th. As for Wabash, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Carroll on the 2nd.
