Baseball Recap: Greenway Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Greenway proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Moon Valley Rockets 9-8. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Dylan Archuleta was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Greenway's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carson Gumm, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Greenway pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Moon Valley, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenway will challenge Prescott at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Moon Valley, they will face off against Dysart at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Demons have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
